Sithique Nasi Kandar

Kedai Makanan Sithique Nasi Kandar Pulau Pinang
Jalan Dang Wangi (within the old Odeon theatre)
50100 Kuala Lumpur
(Coordinates: 3° 9' 25.50", 101° 41' 47.25")

This is one of our two most favourite Nasi Kandar joints in Kuala Lumpur, the other being Ibrahimsha which we’ve yet to cover. Right beside the old Odeon Cinema (styled in Art Deco architecture) it’s just a hop, skip and a jump away from our apartment, and we’ve been coming here for our Nasi Kandar fix since we moved in all those years ago.

They used to occupy the corner lot shop house right across from Sogo Department Store till a textile giant booted them out. It was a blessing in disguise I’d say because while the old shop was stuffy this new place is airy and well ventilated.

I’m always here for the ayam masak kicap (chicken cooked in thick soy sauce) and it has never disappointed. We’ll let the pictures do the talking.

hmm, what will it be today...

all done, my turn

as always, the ayam kicap for me

Brendan had the fried chicken (what, really?)

 can you smell the aroma?

my delectably scrumptious ayam kicap!

the damage? we kid you not!

From the photo above, you can see that it came up to a very reasonable RM21.60, plus the portions of chicken we got were also very generous. Everyday food for the everyday person? Heck yeah!

Dining here during weekdays can be tricky so its best to try avoiding the crush hours of between 12:00PM to 2:00PM because they do rip-roaring business during these times. You’ll have more luck finding an empty table during the weekends.
