Yokozuna Casual Japanese Dining Restaurant

Yokozuna Casual Japanese Dining Restaurant

Cat came across this on mydeal.com.my: "The DEAL is Back! 1 Japanese Set Meal (30 choices) with FREE Flow of Green Tea for RM14.90 at Yokozuna Casual Japanese Dining Restaurant (Fraser Place, Jln Perak). Voucher Value: RM30.69".

We duly obliged and purchased three of these vouchers. Indeed, we were very curious to find out what casual Japanese dining was all about. Getting to Fraser Place wasn’t too difficult but parking was a bit of a challenge. It seems that with each new development the parking entrances and exits ramps keep getting narrower and narrower. Maneuvering our mid-sized saloon proved tricky but once at the basement there were ample parking spaces.

We made our way to the ground floor of Fraser Place and correctly guessed that Yokozuna would be the one restaurant 'fenced' by bamboo. We were the only ones there (it being a Sunday afternoon) plus we were pretty early. I took the opportunity to look around and snap some photos of the place. Suitable impressed with the cozy ambience, we hoped that the meals provided would not disappoint.

we were the only ones there, nice!

I ordered the Yakiniku Beef set, Cat had the Salmon Teriyaki set while Brendan sampled the Chicken Katsu set.

I ordered this

I've never eaten so much onions before

 Cat ordered this

she's into fish these days

 the set in its entirety

she can hardly wait

and Brendan ordered this

it is as good as it looks

 the set in its entirety

He looks pleased!

itadakimasu!

Taste wise, it’s comparable to the excellent Japanese stall at Taste of Asia and the authentic Japanese Taro Ramen but with 30 set meals to choose from, Yokozuna has the definite edge. Plus at RM14.90 a set (with free flowing green tea) Yokozuna can definitely take on the mantle of ‘the everyday food for the everyday person’.

We would definitely be on the lookout for the next offer for Yokozuna’s set meals.
