I had a wisdom tooth extracted and was supposed to be resting
at home when Cat informed that Brendan had a Prefect’s Night to attend at the
Royale Bintang tomorrow. Since he had no formal wear (with throbbing gums and
all) we made our way to Kenanga Wholesale City to look for a blazer for
Brendan.
This has got to be THE place for reasonably priced goods
especially clothing. Since Brendan is into K-Pop we got him a very ‘Seoul-ish’
looking blazer (tight fitting black blazer with a contrasting grey panel on
each sides).
All done, we headed up to the 7th Floor to have
lunch at Kenanga Foodcourt. This place is pretty popular with teenagers hanging
out after school, and nearby offices.
Since my gums were still pretty sore and I was trying to avoid hot food and excessive chewing, I settled on the 1Char Siew Rice while Cat ordered a plate of 2Char Kuey Teow.
1barbecued pork served with chicken-flavoured
rice, cucumbers, drenched in sweet gravy or drizzled with dark soy sauce and
garlic chilli
2flat rice noodles stir-fried over very high heat
with light and dark soy sauce, chili, a small quantity of belachan, whole
prawns, de-shelled cockles, bean sprouts, chopped Chinese chives and egg
The damage? All in (plus exotic sounding coffee for both of us) it came to RM24, which is a little steep considering it was just Cat and I but reasonable enough when compared to other departmental store and shopping complexes food courts. Would we come again? This is a very cosy place to rest your feet and have a meal after a hard day of shopping, we reckon.
