Yeay, it's our first post for October and talking about dejavu, today it’s happening in spades. First off, as is normally the case we try to have lunch at one place only to find ourselves eventually at another. Secondly, we went looking for a restaurant that no longer exists.

Today we had full intended to try out the Restoran Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa Kampung Baru (supposedly located at: 1-1 Jalan PJU 5/10 Kota Damansara 47810 Petaling Jaya, coordinates: E101° 35' 33.1" N3° 9' 5.5") but could not find the place. The same thing happened to us when we looked for the same restaurant in Setapak a few weeks ago.

No matter, since we were delighted to have stumbled upon this Japanese fast food joint. Located along the main road (Jalan PJU 5/2, 5/10 and 5/14) this restaurant is situated at a prime corner of what can be considered Kota Damansara’s food haven. Traffic was at a snail’s pace here during lunch, and we strongly recommend that you avoid driving here.

We were taken in with the bright and cheerful décor, and even more so with the set meals. I had the Gyudon Beef Rice set; Cat tried the Veggies Teriyaki Chicken Rice set while Brendan sampled the Veggies Chicken Curry set.

Despite being touted as a fast-food joint, we were impressed with the taste and overall value (which came to a respectable RM29.70), and we were even more impressed with the fact that our meals did not attract any pesky taxes. So if you’re in the mood for ‘fast’ Japanese fare then head on over to Sukiya!
