You will have no idea how long we’ve meant to come and sample the famous Nasi Lemak here! In hindsight we guess the heavens conspired to make us wait till Ginny and Vince got back before allowing us the pleasure of Village Park Restaurant.

what greets you as you enter

can you smell the aroma?

wassup?

hard at work

Operated by a Chinese-Muslim husband and wife team, the service for food is indeed speedy as described by most food sites. This restaurant has been graced by the presence of a pretty illustrious list of luminaries including present and former Prime Ministers, from the likes of Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Dr. Mahathir to Dato’ Seri Najib Razak (hehehe)! Political divide aside, we guess it’s true that good food brings people together.

just some of the media coverage

deserved hype

As always, this place is filled to the rafters, so much so that they will normally install a makeshift tent and temporary tables and chairs to cater to the huge swell of weekend diners.

some even come in crutches for the good food

we tried our luck inside...

... and manged to be seated, woot!

this is what we're talking about

Cat and I sampled the Nasi Lemak with Sambal Sotong Kering (Dried Squid Sambal) while Brendan, Ginny and Vince opted for the more traditional Nasi Lemak with Ayam Goreng (Chicken Fried with Spices).

this is the bomb!

my nasi lemak sotong sambal

heavenly combination

let's dig in!

rare shot of moi (thanks Vince!)

What can we say? Village Park Restaurant deserves every bit of hype it gets from the media and websites. Believe you me; you will be hard-pressed to find another establishment in the Klang Valley that can surpass the Nasi Lemak here.

Oh, and before we forget (from all that gushing) the damage was a very reasonable RM64 (or RM12.80 each… again please bear in mind that this was for four adults and an ever-hungry adolescent), within the realms of the everyday food for the everyday person. Would we come back? Heck yeah, everyday if we could!
