Pantai Pandak

Jalan Pantai Peranginan Chendering
21080 Kuala Terengganu
Coordinates: 5.270152, 103.182899

A long long time ago when I was in school a group of friends would cycle here every so often. We used to call it the ‘Blue Lagoon’ and imagined Brooke Shields bathing among the rocks, lol!

The Blue Lagoon was popular among the locals for its tranquil waters, and was a well-kept secret to keep those pesky tourists away. You can have your Pantai Batu Buruk, leave us to our Blue Lagoon.

Some 30 years later and I finally discovered its true name: Pantai Pandak! With time came development, and I particularly disappointed to see a resort being built nearby. So much for it being ‘private’ beach for ‘us’ locals.

something eerie about this tree

but that didn't bother him one bit

the rocks where we'd imagine Brooke Shields bathing

the spooky tree in its full glory

still deserted...

but for us 'locals'

kite flying, a popular pastime

enveloped by dark clouds

yeah, rain is coming

time to head back

but not until one final shot of a traditional wooden house

heading back to our car
Soon as we got in the car the heavens opened up and it poured bucket loads of rain. We got back to our budget beach resort and took a nap, dreaming of what's in store for dinner.
