We are beginning to notice a trend developing. Why is it that whenever we visit a restaurant it tends to get closed a few short months later? LOL!

Oh well, on this special occasion we decided to give Brendan a treat for doing well during a recent debate tournament. So what better way to celebrate Brendan’s excellent results then to treat him to a round of good old burgers, shakes and fries?

We made our way to Avenue K by bus, and walked into Johnny Rockets here. Firsct impressions? Well, it was clean and spacious with an interesting ambiance that screamed: America. Not that we have anything against the USA, perhaps Johnny Rockets went a little too out of the way to remind us of their theme?

nope, didn't have beers this time around

a jukebox?

enthusiastic

yes, we're here for the burgers too

a jukebox for god's sake

taking our orders

However, the enthusiastic in-house entertainment was well worth the ‘admission price’.

dancing

swaying

grooving

gamboling

romping

and swinging

to the beat of Michael Jackon

As their website proclaims: “When we put the words burgers, shakes and fries on the outside of our building it’s a commitment – not only to you, but to ourselves to always strive to serve the absolute best.”

committed to the burger

that's obvious

mouth watering

saliva inducing

and so sinful

a different perspective

time to dig in!

And we can’t agree more. So absorbed by the burgers, shakes and fries we were that by the time we left we completely forgot what we ordered.

not forgetting the milk shakes

oh yeah!

Very Americana type and themed, Johnny Rockets definitely does not serve the everyday food for the everyday man. A welcomed distraction, a novelty restaurant nonetheless.
