Mee Tarik Warisan Asli (Closed)

(closed as of December 2015?)
No. 14-20G Jalan Dang Wangi
50100 Kuala Lumpur
Coordinates: 3.155893, 101.700268

This is hands down Brendan’s favourite noodle shop. We’ve been coming here again and again these past few years.

So what better way to celebrate Labour Day then to have our all-time favourite, the 1Lamian noodles.

1a type of Chinese noodle, made by stretching and folding the dough into strands. Depending on the number of times the dough gets folded, the strands can be made in various lengths and thicknesses.

walking in with glee

I unconsciously took quite a fair bit of photographs of this noodle shop as if to preserve the memories of their excellent dishes for posterity.

Unbeknownst to us, a few short months later this noodle shop would call it a day, and what we have left are just these photos. Eventually their other stall at the Sogo Shopping Complex’s food court on the sixth floor would also close down.

What a bummer, as Brendan would exclaim!

All is not lost though, as checks on their website assured us that their other branches across Malaysia are still opened for business. Perhaps the rental along Jalan Dang Wangi as well as the stall at Sogo proved too expensive?

So without further ado, let’s enjoy the photos captured for the last time.

I had the Rice with Ziram Mutton; Cat had the Mee with Special Sauce Fried while Brendan had his customary Fried Mee Dough with Beef.

Excellent as always, and with the entire meal costing below RM30 Mee Tarik Warisan Asli is definitely within the realms of the everyday food for the everyday man. If you should come across any of their shops around be sure to pay them a visit, we assure you that the chewy taut made to order noodles will be worth it!
