We were famished after the exhausting walk this morning.
Heading back to Jonker Street we walked past a restaurant selling 1Satay
along Jalan Portugis (Portuguese Street).

dish of seasoned, skewered and grilled meat, served with a sauce. May consist
of diced or sliced chicken, goat, mutton, beef, pork, fish, or other meats grilled
or barbecued over a wood or charcoal fire, then served with various spicy
seasonings and peanut sauce
With a ubiquitous enough
appearance we did not expect a surprise in store.

in for a pleasant surprise! |
To our pleasant surprise this restaurants serves only pork satay, which
coming from Kuala Lumpur is a rarity.
We promptly ordered fifty sticks of the savoury skewered satay which
comes with the customary side dish sliced cucumbers and onions. For added
measure, we ordered a plate of Nasi Himpit (literally compressed rice).

Like we said, it is very difficult for us to find pork satay in Kuala
Lumpur so this meal was thoroughly enjoyed. Furthermore, there was a twist in
the peanut sauce as it had a different undertone and was distinctly sour. True enough,
we found out later that there were elements of pine apple which is an ingredient
not usually found in satay peanut sauce.

However at RM0.90 (90 sen) a stick this restaurant may not be within the
realm of the everyday food for the everyday man?
