Before heading back to the Al Ain Central Bus Station, we
stopped by the
Al Ain Fish Market which is also known as the
Al Ain Farm Shops.
Here you can find fish, meat, vegetables, fruits, and livestock as well.
walking into the market |
typically busy |
rows upon rows of stalls |
every which direction we looked |
in neat little rows |
We were in search of local Emirati dates but found the other
local produce remarkably interesting, with some totally unrecognisable to us.
Cat doing some browsing |
we have no idea what these are |
all manner of local produce |
the back of the market |
lively and loud |
Unlike other parts of Al Ain the area surrounding the market
was very crowded with traffic snarling along the roads surrounding it,
particularly at lunchtime.
Cat walked on in search of local dates |
and doing what she does best: haggle |
what we came here for |
anyone have any idea what these are? |
one final parting shot |
Armed with a kilogram of dates we walked back to the bus
station. We caught the X90 bus at 2.30pm and after about 2 and a half hours was back at Abu Dhabi.
