Menara City One EMCO: Day 12/14 - Preparing for the Worst?

| Day 25/28 of Malaysian MCO | Day 12/14 of City One EMCO |

We spent the entire morning scouring the various media channels for news on Menara City One's EMCO, with no luck. Hoping for the best but preparing for the worst, we got in touch with a grocery shop in Puchong that my sister had recommended. We chatted with the grocer through WhatsApp and placed our order. He promised to look through the list and revert to us if any of the items were unavailable.

He came back a while later, but for one item (that he promised to source around at other retailers in his area) will be able to fulfill our order. He will be using Lalamove as his delivery partner and made arrangements for pick-up at 10am on Monday, 13th April.

He asked us to provide him with the SOP with regard to delivery to our condo due to the lock-down, and we told him:

  • The Lalamove delivery person needs to call us first before sending, since it will take some time for us to make our way down to the ground floor lobby (each lift is limited to only 4 occupants)
  • once the delivery person arrives at our condo, he will need to report the name and unit number of the resident receiving the items with PDRM personnel out front
  • The PDRM personnel out front will radio his counterpart at the ground floor lobby to verify the resident’s details
  • The delivery person will be allowed in once PDRM confirms that we are present at the ground floor lobby
  • The delivery person will be asked to leave the items at the staircase of the ground floor lobby
  • PDRM will inspect the items
  • only then will we be allowed to collect the items

Thank you so much Ben!

Then at about 11am today we received another pleasant surprise when a team of (what we presume to be) JKM personnel came by our unit with a cart full of food rations:

As always, we had each item spray-nitised and wiped down with antibacterial wet wipes 😷

In the afternoon I plugged in my bass guitar and had a go at Muse's Hysteria (which ironically is the feeling we are all trying hard not to give in to). So let us keep calm and rock on!

Later during his daily press conference the Health Ministry Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah again announced the same figures: a total of 2,109 tested with 30 positive cases. With only 1.42% of positive cases among those tested we are ever hopeful that our EMCO will end as scheduled.

It has been 4 days since we were PCR tested, and we expect results in 3 days' time. We ask that everyone we know to pray for our continued health, safety and well-being.
