We are the forgotten people of the MCO.
We realised later that Dr Eliza, a resident and committee member of the Residents' Association had provided us with an update very late last night:
Since the next and final round of re-testing and screening on the 500 targeted residents will commence today at 9am and should be concluded today, and given that it takes 7 days for the results to be known, we can estimate that the lock-down will be extended to at least 21st April. There is however every possibility that KKM could continue to test the rest of the residents in Menara City One once the first 500 targeted residents today have been tested.
Another round of worry and anxiety?
We then received unverified reports from our friend at the condo management office (COMC) whom we have not heard in a while that of the 39 cases tested positive so far at Menara City One only one (1) case involves a Malaysian; he further added his sources at the KKM lab told him that results from all residents are known, except for those tested on the 9th and 10th of April.
Since we were tested on the 7th of April and we have not been visited by KKM we can only surmise that our tests are negative. No news is good news?
At 10am we wandered along our floor and looked over the corridor walkway to see a small group of residents getting ready to be re-tested and screened:
At about 1pm we received words from our neighbours the Punjabi family from the other side of our floor that they were called up for the rapid test kit screening (blood test). We were eventually relieved and glad to hear that everyone was tested negative!
Now its our turn to wait in anxious anticipation 😓
At 2pm we sat through Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob's daily press conference regarding the Movement Control Order (MCO), where it was announced that the lock-down imposed on Menara City One has been extended until 28th April!
Not only that, the lockdown is expanded to include properties along five nearby roads - Jalan Munshi Abdullah, Jalan Dang Wangi, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Tun Perak, Jalan Melaka and Jalan Ampang.
Now, KL’s Masjid India, surrounding areas locked under EMCO
At 5.00pm during his daily press conference the Health Ministry Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced no additional positive cases at Menara City One which remains at 39 cases.
