Menara City One EMCO: Day 23/29 - That Sinking Feeling

| Day 36/42 of Malaysian MCO | Day 23/29 of City One EMCO |

Do you know that sinking feeling at the pit of your stomach? Yesterday evening the following videos and photos were shared at our residents’ group chat:

From what we can gather from the photos and videos shared above a group of patients were shepherded by a team of KKM personnel onto a waiting bus, bound for the nearest Covid-19 hospital.

Later a friend who had intimate knowledge of the latest cases reported to us that 10 or so residents from the following units were taken away:

  • A-9-3
  • A-11-4
  • A-22-4
  • A-26-?
  • B-27-5
  • B-36-2

Our friend further reported that the 10 or so patients were Pakistani, Indian and Bangladeshi nationals. Our condo's team of cleaners were given the unenviable task of cleaning the common areas in the vicinity of the units affected as well as the lifts and the 7th floor foyer area immediately after the patients were taken away.

The only death reported at Menara City One due to Covid-19 is a Pakistani national. Night after night we hear our security officers blowing their whistles trying to get these migrant covidiots to disperse from the 7th floor foyer area, a favourite spot for them to gather in defiance of the condo’s social distancing rules.

Once the KKM, PDRM, ATM, APM and RELA are done with Menara City One it is our sincerest hope that it is the turn of the Immigration Department to rid us once and for all of these migrant covidiots!

We will end our rant here, and move on“It is not despair, for despair is only for those who see the end beyond all doubt. We do not.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien.

Late last night Dr Eliza, a resident and committee member of the Residents' Association shared this message with the residents' chat group:

At 5.00pm today during his daily press conference the Health Ministry Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced an additional 11 positive cases at Menara City One which now stands at 51 cases.

It has been 15 days since we were PCR tested, and we assume that our results are negative. We ask that everyone we know to pray for our continued health, safety and well-being.
