Kuala Terengganu!
The last time we took a trip to my hometown was in November 2021. It was here that we eventually contracted Covid-19, and worst of all it was the Delta variant. We were laid up for a month or so and were in a state of stupor for many months after that.
This time around we were hoping to make happier memories and left our condo at ten to eight to begin our long drive up the east coast. We headed north and drove past the Gombak Toll Plaza twenty minutes later. After almost an hour we exited Karak Highway at the Bentong Toll Plaza before making our way past the Karak Toll Plaza and onto the Lebuhraya Pantai Timur (LPT, or East Coast Expressway).
We arrived at the Temerloh Rest & Recreation area at half past nine and ordered from the nearest stall which was Selera NJ. Brendan meanwhile ordered from the Hafeeqs Sri Jergoh stall.
Our breakfast of:
- 2 plates of Nasi Lemak
- 1 bowl of Kari Ayam Kueh Teow
- an assortment of beverages
came to RM22.50 (approximately USD5/EUR4). After a quick potty break, we resumed our drive at 10:00am. An hour and a half later we made a pitstop at the Perasing Rest & Recreation area as I had to answer a very urgent call of nature.
Most of the drive was captured on time-lapse, which we stitched into a montage that we hope you will enjoy.
After two more hours we drove past the Kuala Terengganu Toll Plaza at 1:00pm and headed to town for lunch.
